My personal photography often references local landscapes and history. This gallery includes a range of genres including landscape and seascape that represent shadow and light, colour and texture, form and composition.
The three projects included here are:
East to West, West to East - a collaborative land art project photographed
at Ruapuke on the west coast of NZ;
Shadows in the Land - a research project completed over one year that references the visible (and invisible) remnants of historical sites in the Waikato;
and an investigation into memorial sites around the Waikato.
I believe aesthetic appreciation of the photograph is a doorway through which we can discover new things about ourselves, and about the world in which we live.
